We hot run every used motor then check the compression.

Motors with too much end play or other major problems go to the rebuilding, parts or scrap bins.

If a motor only needs rings, new ones are installed. If a piston and cylinder kit is what is needed then a new set goes on.

Push rod tubes, crank flywheel seal and other seals are replaced.

Motors are sold as long blocks (no tin or accessories) or turn key.

Remember these are still "Used Motors"! Think about how obsessive we can get when we rebuild a motor.
